How to GLOW in Summer Hunny

Glowy skin in summer is an absolute must, for one major reason, we all want to look juicy and sun-kissed throughout summer and we want to have the perfect “no make-up, make-up look” that will give us a natural touch up to our skin yet an effortless, lightweight look.
Summer 2018/2019 was boiling, for us here in the Southern Hemisphere. With temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius maximum; we were on literal fire. However as the end of summer has come and we are transition into Autumn, I would like to share with you all how I survived summer, make-up free, yet GLOWING!!
Step 1:
SKIN CARE, SKIN CARE, SKIN CARE!
First things first, skin care is super important!! I won’t be going into exact details as to what saved and ruined my skin in this post, but I just wanted to highlight that without a good base, which of cause is your skin care routine. Glowy, healthy looking skin cannot be achieved.
A good face cream takes you far, whether you like a more mattified look or a more glowy look, your face cream and sunscreen (I almost forgot) are so important. My favourite face cream has been the infamous, Olay Beauty Fluid, as it is perfect for my combination skin, as it’s light, yet buildable moisture is well adjustable to my skin type as I can apply more where need and less where need less, which is perfect. My skin is therefore left soft, not too glowy, yet not matte, the perfect combination between the two, mattwy?
The last step in my skin care routine is a good moisturising sunscreen, my favourite has been The Cetaphil Daylong Kids Face & Body Sunscreen, even though it’s a tat bit on the pricy side, a little goes a long way and I can use it all over my body instead of buying two separate sunscreens for my face and my body.
Step 2:
THOSE SLIGHTLY FILLED BROWS
I’m about to share with you all, one of my top beauty secrets, which is, how I get super full looking eyebrows, without filling in my brows. However, I have an advantage as I was gifted with beautiful thin brows, with a good amount of hair and an almost full shape.
I use the Essence Lash and Brow Clear Mascara to brush over my eyebrows to given them a fuller and slightly thicker look without filling them in.
Step 3:
THOSE FRESH OUT OF THE POOL EYELASHES
We all love the way our eyelashes look straight after a good swim, as they look super long and just perfect and I’ve found a way to achieve this desired look without taking a rather long dip in the pool and once again, I like to use my Essence Lash and Brow Clear Mascara to add length and also give my eyelashes a watery look.
Step 4:
HIGHLIGHTER BABY
My go to highlighter all summer has been the Stilla Heavens Hue Highlighter in the shade Bronze, as it is subtle and not too overwhelming, even though it a bit on the pricier side,I Iove-love the sun kissed look it gives me. I love to apply the highlighter on the temples of my cheek bones, on my brow bone, and a tad bit on my forehead, and of cause I don’t forget that cupids bow.
Step 5:
BRONZER
Even though a good blush would be better suited for this step, I love giving my face a bit more colour that says ‘hey I’ve been in the sun all summer long and I’m bronzed up’ , I love to use the Essence Compact Powder in the shade Mahogany for a bronzy look and I like apply it slightly on my cheeks, where you would contour, sucking in your cheeks and semi- pouting helps you find the perfect spot to place the bronzer.
Step 6: (the final step)
THOSE JUICY LOOKING LIPS
A friend of mine just came back from Sephora in Dubai and got me Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in the shade Fenty Glow and I looooove it, it’s perfect, moisturising, long-lasting, gives my lips a juicy look and did I mention I love it. I just apply a tiny bit on my lips and my day can start!
I hope these tips on how GLOOOOW this summer are helpful tips!
